Applications are invited by Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) for the award of fellowships to scholars to pursue research in (i) India: Recent Historical Trends and Developments (ii) India in Transition: Issues and Challenges (iii) India and the Wider World

Details of the Post and the selection criteria are as under:

The fellowships are offered at two levels: Fellow and Senior Fellow. The emoluments, including allowances, will correspond to that of  Associate Professor and Professor of Central Universities, respectively. CPF/GPF facilities will be extended only to scholars having permanent jobs in Government/Government funded Institutions who take up the Fellowship after taking leave without pay from their parent institutions. All the selected Fellows would be required to undertake their research work/project by making NMML as their base. They will be allowed the study tour/s  after obtaining approval.


Senior Fellow: Scholars of eminence who have made a significant contribution to the knowledge in their respective fields and preferably have experience of conducting/guiding research and have two published books to their credit.

Fellow:  Ph.D. or equivalent with a good academic record, published works and at least five years teaching/post-doctoral research experience.


Interested scholars are required to send their applications after duly filling them along with a write-up of about 2,000 words on the proposed project to be undertaken. The filled in application form should be sent to the e-mail id:
on or before 02 August 2018, 5.30 pm.

Preference would be given to those applicants who use the archival records of NMML for their research. The application form may be downloaded from this site. Applications received after the last date will not be considered. Members of the Selection Committee, NMML Society, Executive Council, and NMML staff cannot be a referee.
